In Southern Burgundy discover magnificent surroundings near Cluny, the famous medieval city where the most important Benedictine abbey was founded in 910.

Whilst staying in a 16th century Town House,La Maison Tupinier, ideally located 50m from the Abbey’s entrance.

This authentic house belonged to the Tupinier des murgers, familly of lawmen and judges, until the 19th. One of its members was painted by Greuze, important painter native of Tournus, nearby, in the 18th century.

After having been dwelled by a family from Lyon until 2000, the house was bought by Luc Du Mesnil, antiques dealer in Cluny since 1979.The last 10 years he has restaured it with passion and decorated a large apartment where guests from all aroud the world have been staying. The apartement is furnished with antiques and original old paintings. You have the view over the garden planted with boxwood and variety of flowers, particularly roses.

The owner will be pleased to share his knowledge of the region, restaurants, vineyards, castles etc...

In cluny, charming little city, apart from th abbaye, you have a National Stud, important jumping events, private horse riding, a golf 20km away... The TGV station is nearby, 22km.The highway to the South 25km, Geneva 160, Lyon 90, Beaune 90 You will never have enough time to discover this beautiful part of France.
